I Just got this coin back from certification and I have looked at values from several different places but I do not have any idea how the negative details affects the VF-20 grade it received and value adjustment, any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
If you compare it to sales with comparable piece(s) at VF-20, not limited by the details qualification, you can be assured it will generate much less interest for purchase at that price level...and the 'market' defines what pieces are worth with 'issues'....so any auction may realize 1/3 to 1/2 of what a 'normal' VF-20 might bring, regardless of the specific type of coin because of the details tag. I buy numerous 'bargain' pieces like yours because the drop in cost for a piece I want makes it fit my budget much more comfortably. For instance, an UNC details Trade Dollar went for about 50% under the usual auction estimates/sales for a exact type without the rim dings/damage mine had. But, if someone can live with the defined/visible 'issues', the coin may even sell higher than anyone might guess. My comments are based solely on the grading info--or lack of it---on any issues type coin, not the photograph...A rule of thumb, if you will...
Yeah, and these are the pictures I paid ANACS to take, downloaded them straight from there site. I personally cant take better ones, but will work on getting some. Thanks
