I have 2 coins I need your wisdom on. The 1st one is posted here. I believe it is on pg 64 of the 2007 Redbook - Georgivs/Britannia but I can't decipher which group it falls under. To me it looks like either a group 2 or a group 3, however on the chart with retail below the groupings, there is no group 2 listed for a 1772. I also believe this coin woud grade VF/EFish. What do you think? Any help is appreciated. Freddypm
It looks like a George III Copper Half Penny from the UK here is a bit of a useful link http://www.24carat.co.uk/halfpencestoryframe.html De Orc :kewl:
Thats what it looks like to me also. I had one of these years ago but mine was a very worn example. Unfortunately, I lost mine around the same time the ex-wife left.
Freddypm, that's a very nice British 1/2d. coin you have got there. The U.S. Bungtown pieces are derived from the design of this coin. Aidan.
So I sold it tonight on Ebay. Redbook says its a $450 coin in fine. THis coin was better than fine. suprisingly, No interest at all on Ebay. Ended up with only 10 bids and I let it go for $120. Someone did well I think.
