1746 VOC coin- Duit Question??

    I have this coin. I like this coin also. I would like to know more about it. That's where you come in. What is it categorized as? Token, coin? What's the value of it in terms of its denomination? I went round and round looking for one but got confused and dizzy.
    This is best I found.....Medal - VOC (1 duit "1746") - Netherlands East Indies (1601-1949) – Numista

    Nice! You were close but not quite. It's a coin, a copper duit minted for the Dutch East India Company. This particular variety is from the Dordrecht mint. Here is the correct Numista page:

    These are common, so current value in that condition might be around $15.

    Their system of coinage is confusing, no? I'm still trying to figure it all out. Thanks for leading me in the correct direction. ;)
    Did these ever circulate in the U.S?
