Here's another coin I have and not sure about it's authenticity. It has some wear that seems to have a brownish-red cast to it on the raised/worn areas. The dark area on the crown on the front is a pit/hole. It feels heavy enough to be real, but I have no idea. Thanks!!!
Hi everybody, Let me introduce myself, My name is Alberto form Barcelona, Spain. It's my first post. Sorry for my English. I'm not an expertice in ancient coins, but I was looking for your coin into a book and the picture of the real coin from Felipe V seems quite different from yours. The flowers that appears on the reverse of your coin over an below the "8" seem like a very bad copy. The front seems also a bad copy itselft. Maybe, someone else more expertice could give you another opinion. Regards Alberto
mtwa - What you have there is a very poorly made cast copy. I doubt it is even silver. Howdy VisualNumis - Welcome to the Forum !! Your english is just fine
I'd agree with you. It looks like a pretty poor fake to me. The edge and denticulation are all wrong for the type (IMHO). My guess is that if it were weighed it would come in at around 20 grams as opposed to the 27 it should be. PS good to see another fellow european here.
