Recently came across what I beleived to be a colonial issue 1/2 farthing. Upon further inspection I determined that it was not. Now I'm leaning towards British Farthing. Date appears to be 1723. Can any one confirm and value?
as far as i know the half farthing was issued from 1820. if i am right then this one is a farthing and not a half farthing. a 1723 in fine =appox £25. vf £100. there was allso a 1723 error farthing with a R over sideways R in rex these are extremely rare. hope this helps. wait for someone else to chime in to confirm. dave
