I have this Queen Anne 1704 Three Pence and if anyone had some opinions on grade and value they would be much appreciated. Its about the diameter of a dime.
According to this link: http://www.ngccoin.com/poplookup/WorldCoinPrices.aspx?category=86467&worldcoinid=235792 $7 in VG-8 condition, $45 in VF-20 condition. I'm not sure where your's would grade but I say maybe Fine details since the rim is damaged at 7/8 o'clock obverse, so net VG? Someone with more experience in world coins should be able to help more than I can.
On all Queen Anne coins the bust faces left, has your picture been reversed ? I can`t enlarge your pictures, they appear very small.
That makes sense because you would have to flip and rotate that obverse to get the rim damage in the place as shown on the reverse. I'm pretty sure you flip the coin about the x-axis to see the reverse, just as with US coinage. Here's the corrected image:
:yes:Nice 1704 3 Pence! I like Vicky 1/2 penny thru Crown from 1838-1899.even some of there Hong Kong coinage is in my collection Here in the USA there no a big group of collectors but there is a few!! so price wise grade + condition is what brings a higher price. a good photo will make more the coin interesting but selling $ is what the market will pay. Dave 1704 3 pence is a gem!!!:thumb:
That's in GF-nVF when you consider the normal striking problems for these issues. I would say between $15-25 retail. Edge nick looks like a planchet flaw to me, but either way probably won't affect value much.
Hbo king of Thornes had put a light on English coinage. Its add a few more folks buy penny thru Crowns also Gold coinage has has been selling for a lot more than the spot% Its odd how Tv today is sendind JQ Public to coin shops +buys like me.
