This is my first try on slabbing a coin. I bought this coin from a Hong Kong coin fair in 2009 and encapsulated it by NGC in 2011. The grade is not so exciting at first sight. But it is still the highest grade for a Spanish Netherland Patagon of all dates!
The raw coin costed me about $450. Not very cheap I know, but I like it very much. When I decided to submit some coins to NGC last year, it was my first choice.
Not so expensive really, in pure dollars terms maybe, but not for the coin. Though if purchased 5 years earlier it probably would have been a third of that.
