Hi, I have an opportunity to buy this ducat, but the reserve was super low, as well as the estimate. I know this is usually an expensive coin, is there something wrong? Maybe counterfeit? Thanks, Peter Z
Off the top of my head, if there is I don't see it. But yes it's an expensive coin, depending on what you call expensive of course. Based on records and estimates I can see I'd guesstimate this one - $3-$4k. Could easy be way off though. So what you're asking depends on the numbers you're referring to. But there's several different coins that look very similar to this one, different dates, even slightly different designs, and of course better condition. And some of them are much more expensive.
