    My first half dollar search!

Found (4) 40% halves in $1500 worth of halves.

Interesting thing though. What are the golden kind of half dollars that I found. It seems SUPER golden. Is it actually gold?

Ready to do the search again next week. Seemed a little low on the return but I know lots of people have been doing it.

The 'golden' is most likely gold plate. Some folks liked to glisten their Kennedy's with the yellow substance. Be not fooled my friend, there is no gold (save trace amounts) in them thar hills.

    Welcome to the forum........:)

And $1500? That's a lot of halfs. I don't envy you returning them........

Already have a place that is ready to receive them next week. No return fee either, the lady is being super cool. I actually worked through them in about an hour and 30 minutes. Didn't take long. Found a couple proofs too, not sure those are worth keeping.

Jat , do you look for the popular DDOs, rotated dies and No FG's in the halves group?

A lot of the 80s ones are worthwhile to keep if the condition is uncirculated.

I just got $200 in halves from my CU (NFCU). Found one 1968. However, I will spend the rest of them over the next 6 months on bus fare. No returns. I think this may be why I had to "special order" these. I don't order a zillion of them and then return them the next day. Is this against the roll hunters code?

So umm the 66 I can't find the FG on, need to take a little bit of a closer look. It's not super shiny and uncirculated but still that's worth more without the fg right??
