Hello all, Well i just had the chance to go through $10,000 in old style hundreds. Nothing Spectacular. Do you guys think that i should try to sell these on ebay (they're mostly 1990, 1981, 1977). If so, should i try to split them up into small lots, singles or as a whole unit? Thanks

Does this hapen to you often? I'm sure a few people here would be interested in what you have at maybe a teeny bit above face to save them from the shredder.

Just a kooky thought but I am a kooky guy.

if they are a mix, you could just sell them as a dutch auction. whatever someone bids for a quantity, then you just randomly pull that amount from the pile to ship. Problem is, however, unless the notes are in great condition, i dont think many would be worth much over face. there are some that could be, but not alot.

taking a look through my lindquist book, the 81's seem to command higher prices in the high grades then even the 77's. but thats in high grades, with lower grades being face value.

then post a thread in the OPEN section, for the notes at face plus shipping. then sell them to members here. you wont be out anything, and members here will be able to save some from the shredders.

i just wish i had $10,000 laying around. but i dont, heck, i dont even come close :D.. i mean :( lol

Yeah, if they were mine i would definitely do that. This is for a friend though. Here are the two stars from the batch any face value? They are in pretty good condition (I hope that shows through on the pictures.) Thanks, bschmidtbauer

well, i dont really belive it, BUT... with any $100 stars from the series you mentioned, they are ALL worth more then face.

the 1977 star is worth $300 in CHCU, and the 1981 is worth $3000 in CHCU. neither of your notes are CHCU, but it gives you an idea of value. With those, put them on Ebay. you will certainly find a buyer - if you intend to sell.

Well, convince your friend that he could make some money off the lot. What's he gotta lose?

What grade would you estimate the two stars to be at?

Well, Personally i don't think they would make a ton on ebay and he doesn't really trust people off CT. Sorry!

well, then post the notes in the open forum, im just not sure what you might attract for offers...

to cut down of possible trickery, you might want to offer a view it before you buy it type of thing. Like you ship it to the buyer, and if he agrees witht he asking price after viewing, then he pays you. I am in the process of doing that now with a couple individuals. It really helps make both partys happy about the transaction in the end.

His thinking should probably go in the other direction. I don't trust a lot of people on ebay but am fine with the folks here.
