Hey gang! I picked up this note yesterday. You can see 2 partial watermarks on the left and the thread is in the wrong position. I thought it was kinda cool and wanted to share. I'm not really proficient with these kinds of errors anyone have a guess on value? This note is lightly circulated. Thanks in advance!
Very cool error! I haven't seen such an error on inverted paper before... inverted SNs and seal yes, but not a finished note on the paper itself inverted. You might contact the guy that runs this site, he has a lot of Error notes (though not priced online.) I'd suggest having it authenticated since so many error notes are faked. This should bring you some nice bank if you look to resell!
I apprecieate the link. I am going to be in Tampa so I will probably have to get it PMG certified while I'm there.
Funny you mention that. I just bought a nice USB mic to bring along with me so I don't have to use a digital recorder anymore. So yes
This is definitely not a counterfeit. When compared with a genuine $100 the watermarks and strip are where they are supposed to be... just upside down.
Great find! Let us know what the experts say about it! If it is genuine and in decent condition you can expect a high premium associated with it. I'd say off the top of my head, about 10x face value.
I have seen this error before but mostly on $20.00's. I think there are more out there than people realize, they just don't check them. It will bring a premium but I doubt it would bring 10 x face. If you could get that for it you are doing very well.
Still say it's counterfeit. If you want tho I have ones with wrong denomination watermarks and ones w/o watermarks. Extreme errors. It'll only cost ya $100
