I think I got a pretty good deal! Not too much over melt....The seller also told me that he sorts by condition, not date, mint mark, or variety, so hopefully these won't all be 1921's =p Here's the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330100350861 -Paul
$11.06 a coin? Bet your bippy that is a pretty decent deal. I did somewhat similar over the past two weeks, but I averaged out at $11.89 a dollar. Less than melt, and a great addition if you are doing a date collection of morgans or even a G-XF collection of Morgans
Yeah...I thought it was a pretty sweet deal....and I also love looking for VAMS, so this should be a fun group to go through=)
Cost wise I'd say its a good deal, $11.06 per coin. Priority shipping in a flat rate box is only $8 + $12 or so for insurance. Hope he has $10 in packing material inside. I do see a 1879 and a couple of "S" mint's in there. I think it's a pretty decent deal. Let us know If you find a 93-S in there Chuck
Well, I received the coins today....And the seller wasn't lying about low grade...lol...In the end though, there were no rare dates. However, I did find 2 pretty good VAMS...an 1882 O/S Flush in G....and an 1891 O with a weak E clash on the reverse, which probably only grades around PO-2 or AG-3, but whatever, still a cool find...pictures to come soon =)
Well at least you found a couple varieties. Do any of those Morgans have a shot at grading Poor 1 in a holder? Some people out there are paying strong money for Morgans slabbed in PCGS Poor 1 holders.
Uhh..why would someone want a PO1 coin? Are they going for the worst registry set? I'm sure some of these coins might go that low...lol
Oh, and I'm pretty sure PCGS would bodybag most of these coins...they're almost all cleaned...=( It doesn't matter to me though. I'll put them away for a little while and wait for silver to go up =)
