A well known member told me to bring this question here.
I picked up 2 or 300 in Kennedy halves at bank and around 100 were 1972 S - 2005 S. I know they are not silver and not much more than face value unless in PF 60 or better condition. I took random pics and the left side of group has a few coins that are toned and or missing layer maybe? (1987)
    Any error I should be looking for other than type 1 and 2 mint mark on 1979? 0430171911.jpg 0430171912a.jpg 0430171912b.jpg 0430171914a.jpg 0430171913c.jpg 0430171915a.jpg 0430171915c.jpg 0430171915b.jpg
Basically, should I take the time to put each one in a 2x2 or are they only worthy of a tube ?

Forgot to mention that there was also a 1964, 1966 and 1967 in the rolls as well. Most were full rolls of them but maybe 2 or 3 rolls were half proof and other half normal business strikes. Seemed to me if someone's collection was turned in.

Honestly, probably not. I'd tube them up and maybe sell in Bulk at some point later if you chose to do so.
I can't see you getting much more than face value if you sold at a coin shop or something.

Yeah I kind of figured as much. Things just don't happen that easy usually.

But hey, it's always really awesome to get proofs in circulation! That's happened to me less than 10 times in 10 years...

I haven't found others besides that 1 time. They are still nice to look at. Ill keep 1 of each in a 2x2 and tube the others. Thanks for the eye

So that is what's wrong with it? I'm new to collecting and wasn't quite sure. That's good to hear.

    Wait... what? o_O
Where do you see that? I don't see a Missing Clad Layer. I see toning, plated or bad lighting on a few of them.

@Paddy98 can tell you how much it's worth if it the real missing clad layer. I would have him examine your photos of both sides of that coin.

If both the Obverse and the Reverse look the same.. it's not a missing clad layer. Just toned or Environmental Damage. Do you have a scale? It would weigh less than a normal Kennedy.

It looks toned on the 1. There are like 4 or 5 others on the left from top to bottom that had color issues. Would these be considered dcam?

Clad error or damage since we are on the subject? I said damage but didn't want to dump without confirmation. 0501170146.jpg 0501170146_HDR.jpg

Let's see some more shots of the 1987 directly next to another half dollar (not the bicentennial) for comparison.
