DING DING DING...We have a winner. Low print run of 160,000 notes. Are you able to show the entire note ?
I wondered why your original post was less than half of the note. That center fold is very distractive......I might be the only collector that does this, but when it comes to tying up $100 in modern 100 dollar star notes, I only collect/save uncirculated, low print run notes. I would either put in up for grabs on the For Sale forum, spend it at a dealers table at a show, or just send it back into the wild. I'm sure you'll hear other opinions.
I save stuff like that just for the fun of it. Cool to find. It's like a little savings account. It will always be there if I need some quick cash.
Nice note Rheingold. It's not often Steve gets excited about a "what's it worth question" to justify ringing his DINGER.
If you are a young man, possibly. At my age I would spend it. Can you do better buying a more collectable bill for a hundred dollars? Waiting for your bill to increase in value, the other bill could increase and be worth more. That maybe more prudent. You could buy a $10 large sized, 1914 blue seal, NY Federal Reserve Note in VF to XF condition. It's value is proven, the $100 - 2008 note's collector value hasn't been established yet.
