The 40-centesimos piece has some slight rim damage and a bit of verdigris which I believe could be mitigated somewhat with the application of some Vaseline, Renaissance Wax, or mineral oil. I haven't tried any conservation on it (but could, if you wanted me to). At 30 mm and 38 mm, respectively, both are decent sized coins, equivalent in diameter to a US half dollar and silver dollar. I was interested to discover that they were designed by French sculptor Ernest Paulin Tasset, who also designed a lovely silver jeton I have in my collection.
