Again, don't know squat about paper so probably a low level question... Are star notes (I think that is what I am looking at with the little star after the serial number?) worth anything over face value? I found a newish crisp 2004A $10 star note.

    Thanks,

    Erin

They can bring a premium over face. It is really debateable as lots of collectors wont pay more then face value for them unless they are from a short run or are older notes. I am one of those who saves every star and would pay over face for some. Depending on what FRB that one is from, it could be worth a quite a bit over face.

Well, the 'average' star note will not be worth much in the near term. Most star notes still have millions of notes printed. There are districts that have low printings of like 640,000 or less... those notes will be worth something in the short term.

check out www.uspapermoney.info/serials to see if your note is one of the notes most l;ikely to be worth something. or just post the serial including the letters, and one of us can let you know :)

worth a premium or not... i love collecting stars :)
