Wanted to get your thoughts on the value of this note. Obviously it's seen better days, but what do you think?

I don't typically collect paper money, but do have a few older confederate and certificates here and there.

I am having trouble reading the year but I believe you have a 1928 Federal Reserve Note. 1928 was to my knowledge the first and only year that I can find that listed the reserve by number and not letter. Your note shows #9 which would make it Minneapolis, but the serial # is where I am lost. MY refernce book shows only 3,874,440 notes printed with the #'s starting at 1. How do we come up with a number of I3,944,429A? Perhaps we will wait for a more experinced member to clarify for both of us, so we may know what we have before we can attempt to find an approximate value.

    Tauferners:

The Leading I in the SN is The Fed District Identifier.
The Series 1928 and 1928 A have numerals instead of Letters representing the District.

Looks like this note is a "new High SN for the 10th Edition"..
