I picked up this crusty old 1916A 10 Pfennig from a 25 cent dump bin and bought it home just so i could reserch it a little. But when I had a good look at it , there is what appers to be a die crack that runs from the H in Reich, acroos the bottom of the date and then to the first E in Deutsches. Is this common in these coins?

John, die cracks are quite common on those iron 10 Pfennig coins from Germany. As for the zinc 10 Pfennig coins,it is very difficult to find them in nice order. The zinc ones are usually a whiteish colour, due to the oxidation of the zinc. The same thing goes for the 5 Pfennig coins as well.
