Someone from our sister site https://www.antiquers.com/forums/ gifted me a dozen of these flat coin wrappers, $10 Halves "Bank Products Co. N.Y." I searched online but could only find them described as vintage. Any ideas on age please.
I've got something similar, had them in my collection going on 30+ years. $10 Halves $10 / The Geo. D. Barnard Co. St. Louis, MO The George D. Barnard Co. stretches back, at least to the late 19th century, as printers and providers of bank books and stationery. Here's an ad from the company from 1887. You can probably collect some information from digging around in Google books and other searches from the Early Office Museum website for other companies like these.
There are a bunch of companies around the country that produce and distribute coin wrappers. When I was actively searching boxes of rolls, my BoA branch would give them to me free by the box load. Chris
I came up negative on researching these also. Even checked into some old bank histories but yielded nothing. But it is possible that an older bank, which now might even not exist, may have manufactured their own wrappers. You might want to research the New York State Historical Society. I went there but it's a pretty in depth site. Older banks often also used local stationers to do this so it might get tricky.
I have a large stack of '$10 HALVES $10' wrappers but no bank name, also beige in color. I have had them since 1988.
