Howdy everyone.... Been away for a while on business. Here is what has been added this week. This fractional is the "long Key" version of the 10 cent Meredith Note. From my understanding it is much scarcer that the short key version I posted a while back. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.... RickieB
tha values in my friedburg book shows the same prices across the board for the short/long key varieties. My book is the 17th edition so it needs to be updated, but im not sure how much the prices could change between the 2 varieties in the newer book... anyhoot.. nice example!! your collection of fractionals will be crisp and clean if you keep this up
To complete the 4th issue I only need th 50 cent Stanton and the 15 cent Liberty....then on to the 5th issue ......then back to the NY series and Gold.... anyone know where i can get a second job?? LOL RickieB
Howdy Daggerjon... The cost to me was only $7 more...than the short key...but both notes are near gem. Thanks for taking a look... RickieB
did you do the 1st thru 3rd series? or just the 4thand then the 5th? I know some of the varieties on some of the issues get pretty pricey
Howdy Daggerjon... I am only doing the 4th and 5th issues at this time. I plan on adding select notes from the 1st, 2nd and 3rd issues as well. The notes do get pricey and I am trying to buy some nice sets for my son when he gets to be a young man 15 years from now. He will have every uncirc AGE from 1986 thru when I die as well as the ASE, APE in (1/10th and 1/4 oz) versions along with select proofs. This kid will be all set for when that day arrives and he needs a home or college or whatever. My pledge to him is what I wish my folks had done for me.... One day you will hear of the RickieB hoard!!! LOL Regards... RickieB
now THAT is one aspiration (is that the word?? lol) that would be nice of any of our collections!!! from the items you share with us.. you are well on your way !!
I have two of these, both in UNC condition, but I don't know what makes them long or short key. I'd like to list them for sale, and note which it is in case someone cares about that (more than I do ).
Smajimmy... If you look at the red seal you will se the "key" two versions of this fractional exist...a "long key" and a "short key"..just that simple. Hope this helps.... RickieB
Your welcome. Pretty good actually. I am trying to get a 50 D nickel that is graded, but haven't heard back from the seller yet. Also having a freind purchase a bag of pre 59 nickels for me, so that will be neat. Can't get far with my RPM and OMM set though, don't have the good enough money. But hopefully I can get my allowance increase. Trying to think of the best way to approach the subject, lol. How is your collection? Got any new gold or New York notes? Take care. Phoenix
It seems odd that America had a banknote for 15c.I have got none of those, but I do have 2 of the 15c. coins from the Bahamas though. Aidan.
why was it odd for the US to issue 15c banknotes? The fractional line was printed to help satisfy the need for coinage which was being hoarded. I know the US never minted a 15c coin, but i can see how a 15c note would help in day to day commerce.. as evident in how many other countries also have the 15c note.
