    Hi,

This is my first post. I have no knowledge regarding paper money. I am in possesion of a ten cent piece and would like to know its approximate value.
Here is some info: It is labled as a ten cent peice, there is a signature of John Allison, on the bottom, right, it says fractional currency on the left, on the right side it says series of 1874. The front is black and white with a red seal in the lower right hand corner. the back of the note is green. On the back it says act of June 30th 1864.

    Thanks in advance.

I'm guessing it might be 10¢ Fifth Issue 1874-75 one? What condition is it in?

Thanks for the reply. You have the correct one - series of 1874. The edges are frayed and there is a tear approximately 1/4 inch.

I don't have a book with prices, but I can tell you that mint condition ones can be found on Ebay for $25-$30 (give or take a couple of bucks).
