Well, although I miss the ol' days when we just had a dozen solid dudes that were "just" keeping us limping-along at a daily pace, it is fricken awesome that we've become a site that has such great traffic, eh? I'm glad that we were able to pump-up the existing CT coin-gang ... yah, it has been a total blast watching this place grow-up into what we have now, eh? Congrats to all of us for being so fricken coin-awesome!! (it's all about the fun ... and the coins are merely a super cool reason for us to hang around together, eh?) => I love you coiners!! Lol me too! How many dead bugs equals 1000 FDC gold coins anyway? Before I saw your posts, I had no idea butterfly collecting was that big a thing.
Finding this place has kept me excited about the hobby for a lot longer than I would be on my own. I used to get bored after a year but rediscover it again a few years later. Now I am always finding new reasons to be interested by seeing other people's collections. That and I am always wondering what Steve 006 will come out with. John
It's a great place for coining. I know of no one in my circle of friends who are even remotely interested in my coins. But here I have friends all over the world who are not only interested in my coins, but are excited to talk about them. Steve and I came over here at the same time from another, much more restricted, site, and we've never looked back. There were only a couple of posters back then: Mat, JA, Medman are the ones I can recall. All in all, this is a great place with great people. Thanks @Peter T Davis
I do not have 1000 AV coins, actual number of total coins=960 800 are gold/ rest Silver. Out of these 800 are mintstate/FDC rest are between EF/AU. I got most 95 percent from working long hours/ just now trading in my butterfly/moth collection for aurei with a Montreal collector. He got most of his from Ars Classica/ CNG/ Tkalec auctions. He is coming back Sunday for more of my bugs/ hopefully.....since my work starts Monday. Next coin will be a beautifull Carus aureus/ chariot reverse scene....
Coincidentally, I have just started collecting butterflies ... => Yah, apparently there is some moron dumping his classic-butterfy collection for peanuts!! (I'm buying 'em all up!!)
