$1 Silver Certificate

    My boss found a $1 Silver Certificate in the till. I believe the series was 1956 or 1957. The back of the bill looked virtually identical to the current bill. I don't know if it's worth anything but I thought it was pretty cool.

    bugo, it was probably a Series 1957 bill, since there wasn't a Series 1956. There were millions of these printed and though you rarely find one in circulation nowadays, there really isn't much premium value unless it's in pristine condition. You can pick them up in most coin shops for a couple bucks.

    I would hang onto it -- it makes a great conversation piece. Most people under 50 who aren't collectors have never seen a blue seal.

    Just an after thought, What is the Serial number? never know.
