Saw the coolest error note ever the other day and the coin shop. When I go back I'll take a pic of it, although some of you may have alreay seen one. i haven't. Its a misprint, with the obverse showing Washington and the borders and thats it. On the reverse it had the serials, treasury seal and signatures. He wanted $400 for it. I've seen a LOT of different currency errors but not one like this. Plus its in uncirc condition. Just thought I'd share that story with you. Wish I had a pic! See ya all!

Looks like I need another dealer. What does one have to do to find one that doesn't mark everything up 100%? Just keep looking? I'd hate to think they're ALL like that! Well i'll be....i just looked at that link and thats it! Still thinks its cool. It would be cooler if i coudl buy that then take it to his shop! Rub it in a little! Thanks a lot crispy!

It's a nice error, but not worth $400.

These errors usually are seen on notes printed in the early 1980's, when a new "improvement" in the process took out the human operator and replaced him with an electric eye system that was supposed to automatically orient the sheets for the third printing.

Errors of this sort before the "improvement" and after its retrofit repairs are less common.

Error notes tend to be difficult to price and most coin dealers haven't got a clue as to their value so they often ask way over the true value of the notes.
