I have never done the direct ship program. I dunno if I should be happy or sad - But I am glad that US Mint offers a choice of a 100-coin bag with a low premium. That's more than enough for me!

That sucks. I used to buy a box every quarter. You can use them in the tolls so they coin in handy!! Never found any errors!! :(

I'm sitting on a $250 box of Lincolns that I got through direct ship.
I bought it on a whim.
I don't know if it will ever appreciate or not, but I'll never open it.

I liked the direct ship program and will miss it. I tried to get a box or two of all the issues. Generally, I would save 2 rolls of each, spend a few rolls and use the rest for buying subway (public transportation - not the restaurant) cards. I never liked pulling out my wallet and the "L" station - easier and less conspicous to grab a few coins coins from my pocket instead of counting out bills.

It's really too bad...too bad some dorks had to abuse the system. I hope they bought something that really sucked with those credit card bonus points.

I'm surprised that the program isn't going to contiue with a surcharge for credit card purchases (especially now that the law has changed and all merchants are allowed to disregard card member agreements and pass the costs onto customers if they choose to). Seems like an easy fix.

Program was ended as a result of the Crane Paper Co. pulling the strings on the MA Senators and the VEEP. He had the circulation production stopped, and numismatic production will continue at a steep premium over face value.

Prior to this, the Direct Ship Program eliminated credit cards and required payment via check or wire transfer - in direct response to abuse of the system by some credit card users.

The light at the end of the tunnel: H.R. 2977 and the *NEW* Senate Bill introduced yesterday (no number yet - too new).

Kill the rag dollar and ramp up production of Prexibux !

Click on "Get Involved" and send a message to your rep and senators to sign on to this legislation!
