1. Carthage shekel?

    I bought this on a whim from fleabay....it had green deposits on it, but cleaned up well I think....not really my thing though. I think it may be a Carthaginian AE shekel?? 2nd punic wars?? any help appreciated. 2.0g 16mm

    AE shekel 4.00- 8.10 is the norm is its less or more than that in weight you could very well have another denomination. The monetary system of Carthage is not well understood. If its bronze I would assume it is after the 2nd Punic war.

    I have an earlier Shekel made of SILVER...my first and only Silver Carthage piece.
