I recently bought 1,200 wheat pennies from a guy on craigslist for 100$. I searched through all of them and picked out the ones I wanted to keep. I found a 1910 S and a bunch of indian head pennies. I'm selling all of the Indians today for 48$. I may possibly be selling the 1910S Sunday at a show. The 0 on the penny is a bit faint so you can make it out. I have about 1,100 to 1,200 wheats left from the 10s, 20s, 30s, 40s, and 50s, About 85-90% of them are 40s and 50s. What would someone buy these for if I just sold all of theses 10s, 20s, 30s, 40s, and 50s Wheats? I was thinking .5 cents each but is that too high or too low? Give me some feedback. Would love to make a profit off these. P.S. I don't have pictures because they are at my dads house. I can post pictures later if you'd like me to.
Average circulated wheats, especially from the 40's and 50's are selling for around 2-3 cents a piece.
If you e-bay them by roll probably in the range of 5-8 per roll. If you sell them bulk, you will be lucky to get about $50
Assuming you are actually going to sell the IHCs for $48, and that the 10-S is a very low grade yet problem free example, you might be able to come out a little ahead without over charging anyone for the remaining rolls. Being as you paid over $4 per roll, which the last I knew was very high retail in my area, it didn't leave you much room for gain. If true, the other coins were your saving grace.
