Here is a really neat octagonal 1/2 rupee. It's from the (India) Ahom Kingdom of Assam struck during the reign of Raja Lakshmi Simha sometime between 1769 and 1780. This coin weighs 5.6 grams.

Ben,that is a nice coin. The Ahom Kingdom of Assam actually disappeared before the British arrived in that part of India, therefore these coins are not really of interest to me.Only coins issued by Indian Princely States after coming under British protection & suzerainty are of interest to me.They're genuine British Commonwealth issues as of right.

Ben,do you save your photos directly onto your computer instead of saving them in a website such as Photo Bucket or Image Shack?

Eventually,I will have to get that programme, but after getting a laptop computer first.

Thanks buddy, it was amazingly inexpensive as well. Just a few dollars. There are still some deals to be had off the beaten path :D
