San Francisco and West Point both supplemented Philadelphia's production of Lincoln cents and struck cents with no mint marks, just like Philadelphia's. I have seen several references online (including wikipedia) to the fact that West Point did this from 1973-1986. The most specific references to San Francisco (again we are talking about Lincoln cents struck for circulation without an S mint mark) was that it happened in the 1980's. This is what is given on the mint's own website "1980's." Does anyone know where that 1973-1986 reference is coming from? Did the mint ever actually disclose what years each branch supplemented production? What years did San Fran produce unmarked cents for circulation?
Trees I found a book years ago at my local library about coins and i dont if its around any more but i took a picture of the page of the information that you might like. It gives the years & mintages for WP and SF mints produced cents for the years you mentioned. The picture is way to big to post on here. Its 1.6mb but you can see the mintages for the years along side Phil and Denver minted years. Let me know. Snowman
With a cherry on top Oh please, please, please, email me this image, or type the data as text and include it in an email, or post the text to this thread. All I want is the dates of unmarked production at each year where it was not just PA. (Though I would like the total PA/CA/NY combined production for each year if it's not too much trouble. I think I have those volumes in my type set album; I assume the number they list for '1974' for example (Not '1974 D') includes all three mints. Message me and I can give you my email address if you want it. ~
