Isn't RCM actively trying to pull the pre-82's from circulation? The only way I can find them south of the border is to get them from customer wrapped rolls where they haven't gone through a coin machine with a magnet that rejects them. That said I have arrangements with my numerous bank sources such that I have several boxes of them accumulated over the past few months. Better me to have them than the RCM.
It appears that they will. Business will be asked to return pennies to banks and then they handed over to RCM to get melted down. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/story/2012/03/30/f-penny-faq.html
