‘43 S nickel

    Just curious about the fissure on the obverse of this war nickel. Looks like damage but not sure.

    The Fissure is known as a Lamination. That would be a Lamination Peel. Probably occured before the Nickel was struck.

    The missing E is a result of a greased filled die.
    That's nothing major.
