These are all coins I've found by scouring coins shows and auctions here for the last 40+ years. You could find really interesting coins over here...
I think so too, at least the obverse has been messed with, or at least thumbed. The reverse looks really nice in-hand, though.
I don't think fake (even if it is my coin). It is a B-1 variety and it displays the fine die breaks on the obverse (oops, reverse) left periphery...
Another quarter from the lot I bought recently. Looking forward to your comments. Thanks! [ATTACH]
This was in the lot of U.S coins I bought a while back. I took the pics at a slight angle to highlight the colours and the surfaces. Thanks!...
The bundle of arrows is a bit worn - or is it due to strike?
Thank you, Michael, but I can no longer afford it - those are expensive! Need to save for a biiig project. I appreciate it, though, really.
Warning: bad pics! Still, I hope you can at least get an idea of what this little coin looks like. [ATTACH]
I like what you've done - it shows really nicely what a complete silver and copper set of the year 1801 would look like.
Mark, looks like you are almost there with a year set 1806. That would be a good year since with the 4 coins, you have the set. You don't need an...
I think it took about 8 years. The first was the dollar for which I paid $650 at a Bowers auction in 1987. The last addition was the 1801 cent...
I picked it up a long time ago at a show, and the coin is unfortunately damaged. But still, it was a surprising find for a very low price (about...
I'll just sit back, read, and learn from what you all say. But, I will say this - that is a pretty coin.
A detecting find, wow! I'll see if I can attribute it. 1801 is not an easy year.
One of my U.S collecting interests is putting together year sets. I love the history and the fact of seeing together the coins that were struck in...
Thank you. Could those tiny parallel lines between the bars of the denomination be the result of a clashed die?
Thank you all very much. I thought this was almost uncirculated something, but I have no experience with trimes.
Just curious, is this an MS coin, and are the bands fully split? I only have one other Mercury, a damaged 1921-D otherwise in nice shape which I...
I bought a small collection of U.S coins a short time ago. Some colonials, some large cents, and various other denominations dating up to the mid...
