If the coins have NO VALUE ABOVE MELT, there is no problem with cleaning them so they appeal to your eye. They are worth the exact same after...
That's an extremely shiny coin, and if it were in better shape otherwise, it'd be a keeper. As it is, if it were me, I'd spend it.

Oh, yeah, it's a great find. Just not very valuable. I've worked 20 years of cashiering, and only found 2 or 3 proofs, and no silver proofs at all.
My guess is that there is no response because the pics are not good enough. They look like proof nickels, anything else is a guess.
