I have several programs and books some show generic pics of coins and their grading but not of the coins I have and the few that do show them give...
also the coin is NOT a D it is a plain (no mint mark)
A long time ago I purchesed thru "coin dealer" about 20 sets of coins P & D 's sealed in 3.5 x 5.5 clear plastic cases with black felt and Gold...
Thanks for the info , I was looking in the red book also my electronic cataloging book and this info was not in it along with types of franklin...

now that it has been a positive ID as a gilded with gold five cent coin the next question would be how to ID it as original or modern. looking...
the rest of the story I was showed this by the previous owner and told him I am sure this is a nickel because of the no "cents" but just to let...
