I read this thread because I wanted to see what a 19 pence coin looks like. A little disappointed.
Nevertheless, it's still good practice to hold coins by the edges. I hold circulated pieces by the edges. It reinforces good habits.
I suggest not holding an ASE like that. Or any coin. But you've already got finger prints on it. I know it's "just bullion", but might as well...
