Your 1964 is in decent shape for a circulation find. But, keep in mind that a billion of them were made between 1964-1967 and many uncirculated...
Unless a coin has a high numismatic value attached, counterfeiting a common date would be pointless and costly. Welcome to CT!!

I’m with damaged, maybe with a chisel. You can see some witness marks on the reverse. Probably on a soft surface when punched.
