Yeah, I had bought it raw years ago. The toning is definitely odd. I will pull it out and see if it has any evidence of planchet striations.

Those are IDB's Interior Die Breaks. Cuds involve the rim.
The 83 looks like a multiple clash. Have you tried to identify it on MADDIe clashes.
Raised areas on Zlincoln cents have always been a controvercy. There are legitimate die cracks on Modern plated cents.
I think that the original full size photos do not show any extra thickness.. I would have to see the coin in hand to be sure...

I am not seeing too much damage around that area. It looks to me like an IDB.
Throw it in a flip and come back to it as you learn what to look for.
Will do the finish needs to dry up a bit. And I will post a photo.
That is an extremely low grade IMO. That is unless there isn't any luster. But it looks from your photos to atleast be in the AU range.
I would be worried about the weight. The diameter also looks off in your photo.
