Just going by what looked like that coin's issue in error-ref. Noted the pics that showed similar fractures (The 2002 Brazilian 10 centavos)
From your pics, it's evident that you have a pre-clad cent (a wheatie). We can rule out clad issues. But, cents at that time were not 100% copper....
