If it were mine, I'd crack it out and store in an Air-Tite capsule for the time being. But that's just me. Your mileage may vary.

Those scratches are no accident. Someone put a fair amount of effort into it, although I can't imagine why.
Any residual acetone on the coins will be gone before he can do any patting or blotting. It evaporates in a flash.
