This is called a novelty cent. The counterstamp is the state of New Hampshire (NH). These are made by private mints not the US Mint. Not an error....

No mintmark on a 1977 means it was minted in Philadelphia. It's worth face value.

You have just explained a hit. It doesn't take much force to create what you are seeing. I hit could easily touch the T but miss the rim.
