I am just looking for clarification. If the coins are broken out of the SMS set, then the coins are no longer considered SMS. Right?

I found our local club when I went to a coin show. Lot's of interesting areas of collecting and expertise.
Do you send in the whole set for grading so they can attribute the SMS?
Seems that mint set's for those years would be worth buying so as to complete sets of coin denominations
