Looks like coin B may have some verdigris on it which can progress and get worse. So I would stick with coin A.

Solid red is typically an older roll. I always ask for sold color Customer wrapped rolls because those are typically older coins. I have got lucky...

Your coin is a normal nickel. It looks like someone grinded the edge down to give it that tough feeling.
If it is glue you could soak it in acetone and it will come right off.
It looks like those areas took at hit. Although it is a nice coin copper is very soft and can be damaged easily.
