A flat-cinch stapler is the only way to go. Don't get cheap by using pliers. They don't always work as well as you'd like. Chris
I'm pretty sure that it is a dryer coin which is post-mint damage (PMD). If it were a weak strike, you would still see evidence of the reeded...
I would get it authenticated, first. I don't think it would grade that high, but it would be worth more if it was established as a discovery coin...
