I am having a coin shipped from Austria right now and they are charging me $7.00 for Registered Mail to the US. The seller is Marc Walter on VCoins.
That looks like a great resource with good documentation. I really appreciate you sharing it. Thanks.
Happy Canada day my northern friends.
Cool, when I get it I'll try to get a good die match and get a positive ID.
No, I'll take heads.
Nice one RO. I really like the detail on the reverse.
The condition of this coin is not great but in my short time collecting ancients I have never seen one for sale. For $100 US I thought it was OK...
Nice coin and thanks for the historical background. I now want one.
I know of what you speak from experience. They don't have to be that small to vanish.
Nice David, what is the approximate diameter? I don't have one but will sure look for one.
Well, since we're going off OP type here are my only other JC coins. The portrait coin was issued in the few months after the assassination on JC....
The OP coin has a great portrait. Nice coin.
I love these. Here is my sestertius with dolphine and a couple of denarius. [ATTACH] [ATTACH] [ATTACH]
I like it. Nice coin. Here's mine. [ATTACH]
Doug, have you ever seen an example of more than one Caesar countermarking the same coin? For example your OP coin of Augustus being countermarked...
Nice coin and a great deal.
I need to widen my searches. You guys find some super interesting coins.
As others have said it's sure a fine portrait.
I would guess that the removed countermark was Geta. Septimius would continue to circulate out of respect for dear old dad.
