The multiple photo example photo is of my recent 1983 find, the single photo is of a 1986, not mine, so yes, multiple strikes are known. This much...
ANACS shows only 7 to date in MS67, so unless that changes after mine, I just boosted it by 3. Sounding good so far.
Thank you very much!
If anyone could help me, I would like to know what the population is for these in MS 67 by PCGS & NGC. It could help to know when I go to sell...
The Cheerios cents were duds but all else worked out well. For my initial investment of a few dollars for the roll I found them in and my lower...
Sorry paddy, the Cheerios were duds, not WAM's. Just got my report card back from ANAC's.
The elements of the clash are raised or high relief, not incused. That's what made your explanation plausible to me but not of a total failure. I...
All of the clashed coins I have found, were found in circulation. Only recently did I find a major counter clash, a 1983 003. My best guess is...
Interesting write up. So is this how a major counter clash occurs? With a total or near total failure and the two dies hitting each other? Thanks....
I wonder if Cliff Mishler could shed any light on them. He's big into all sorts of Tokens/Good For's, etc. I don't know how you might contact him...
I would imagine these were done by machine and it was the luck of the draw as to which side showed. There were a lot more cents issued than Sacs.
It won't enlarge for me so I can't tell. The two I sent in were obverse showing so I took a chance on them. They have not come back yet from ANACS.
Yep, there certainly is. Thanks for reminding me. Tough getting old and trying to remember all of these. Thanks. ;)
End stock with a struck through?
I don't see doubling on yours but more like a weird hit to the ear, after the Mint.
Sure you are not thinking about the 1984 doubled ear? That's the major one. 1997 has a more minor doubled ear.
There were several in this year with doubling at the legs and the pillar. I believe those with the doubling at the legs were also "Best of...
Easier to remember by dates-1964-1969. The 1970 & 1976 was only issued in a special set so your not likely to run into many of these in your...
I'm not aware of one either but there were some sloppy coins that appeared blobish in some cases due to plating issues. That may lend some...
If you are still with us Mickey, please don't give up. Errors are a specialty all on their own and come in all shapes and sizes. Lincolns are a...
