Not sure of the symbolism/iconography there, but I would imagine you're right (recognition of authority and right to rule). There's a sharper pic...
Nice pick-ups, Cyrrhus. Congrats. Sounds like you got an amazing deal too. My three Orodes II tets (the last two aren't as pretty as the first,...
Similar Theta issue here...though perhaps not entirely the same(?): http://coinproject.com/coin_detail.php?coin=293940...
The Elymaean coin is Orodes II (early to mid-2nd century AD), Van't Haaff 13.3, subtype 2-2A.
I'm going to imagine that the reverse legend translates as, "YOU SHALL NOT PASS!"
Elymais attributions are a moving target. Yes, the latest research (Van't Haaff) has this as Orodes II.
I miss the older group photos; I never minded opening a second tab for the reverses. They were quaint...reminded me of the old coin sale listings...
This was my first thought too, though I cannot find a match. Some Indian coins have a "Dharmachakra" - a Buddhist wheel symbol that looks...

Van't Haaff goes for $75 new, not $160. Perhaps you are thinking of the Sunrise Collection book, which does come with the heftier pricetag. Of...
The coin purports to be - and hopefully is - a Kamnaskires V tetradrachm, Van't Haaff type 9.1. Better pics would be needed to help authenticate....
Radiate head of Antiochus. Some examples: http://coinproject.com/coin_detail.php?coin=238262 http://coinproject.com/coin_detail.php?coin=238261...
Possibly Antiochus VIII and Cleopatra Thea, Antioch mint.
Nice acquisitions, Doug. I agree the first is likely Artabanus III. For me the only other possibility would be Gotarzes II (Sellwood type...
Top one may be Seleukos II, similar to these:...
That time, Bing, YOU beat ME to it.;)
Lettering suggests Thessalonica, Macedonia:...
The letters may be a cropped "Ilipense" (Iberian Celts).
With apologies...your beautiful coin deserves better than this abuse (but I couldn't resist): [ATTACH]
