The lettering style is what was used on the 1856 cent. Note the the boxy style of the letters, especially the O in OF.

Looks like a type 1 to me.
No software needed to take glamor shots. The angle of the coin to the lens and or lighting is all you need. I agree with showing several images...
It's tough to put a value on a damaged coin but i'm sure someone would pay $10 to $20 for it. It would look just fine in a Dansco.
I know what you are saying but at the same time, look at what some coins bring on Ebay. Even when the seller calls it cleaned there are enough...

From the image, it looks to be an S-7. Edit to add. Don't go with the info in Ricks old book. The S-7 changed. Wish he had just used a new number.
