using acetone IS CLEANING. yet everyone seems okay with that. this is electro-chemistry. not rubbing a coin with baking soda to make it shine.
Why? some coins NEED a cleaning. if you are throwing bullion in a sack, what does it matter if its cleaned or not? if one feels compelled to clean...

i would only do this on bullion. and as far as it being "busted", the issue is what YOU are doing wrong, not that it doesnt work. this works good...
