You can plate coins and sell them for more then face value.... it happens all of the time. If it is illegal (which I think it's not) they don't...

I do believe they do. But their grading is not up to par with the big 2.
As someone who sends in a lot of coins I call it a "necessary evil". There have been a lot of good points made in this thread. It is not cheap...
From years of VAM searching I have a few pieces in my head that I always look for. Mostly hot 50 VAM's. It's easier for me personally to memorize...
