Here's what we're talking about; not close but exact, right down to the spacing. Nice try coincrase. your pic.[ATTACH] Their pic.[ATTACH]
I'll repost it. This looks like the same coin as the one your grandpa had in the vault. Imagine that! scroll down....
Do you have that coin in your possession?
Great looking coin. You had me worried for a minute when you said you bought a 'double die', then I saw it was a 'doubled die'. No such a thing...
Yep, and if you don't have the item up for auction don't list it.
Looks like MD to me.
Wow, I've got a lot to learn.
What? I think you are all wrong. You'd better look at it again.:smile [ATTACH]
I think you are right, thanks. And ziggy9 found it. So lets see 1982 till two years ago = how many years did it lay dormant? That was my point.
I still think it is this; [ATTACH]
Which picture was the one you used to ID it as a fake?
Nope it was scattered all over my desk and they just found each other.:smile
I'll have to agree a struck through grease filled die.
Looks like a minor clip to me.
What does 'DD' stand for?
I agree, nice one to own.
Pretty good looking fake if you look at the full obverse and full reverse posted.
Could be struck through errors. Need closer shots to tell for sure.
Could be a struck through on the obverse and the reverse looks like a normal worn die or die deterioration for a 2000 cent.
Hard to tell from the pictures what caused the damage but that is damage.
